Intimate Wedding-Deep Connections
Hagley Museum and Library is a wonderful venue offering a lot of choices for great photography, but nothing can make a photograph like the bond between family and friends at an intimate wedding. And, in this case, a picture by Fantail Photography, is definitely worth more than a thousand words. Catch the love, the fun, the comfortable humor, the elegant portraits and the beauty of Hagley from the wedding of Steph and Patrick. Congratulations and much happiness! “Intimacy, though part of many close relationships, is not synonymous with with love or exclusivity. Intimate friends are people who like each other, enjoy each other’s company,
go out of their way to help each other, and are concerned for each other’s welfare”.

AVOID WEDDING CAKE DISASTERS – WHAT TO ASK YOUR POTENTIAL BAKERY CHEF
Here is a good list of questions to ask your baker before purchasing your wedding cake. Print them out and take them with you. Cover all the bases, avoid disasters, and get the wedding cake of your dreams.
- Do you have a portfolio of previous wedding cakes you’ve made that we can look at?
Will you be having a tasting soon that we can attend and try various kinds of wedding cake and cake fillings??
Can you supply references? - Will you do a custom wedding cake, or are there a set number of designs for us to choose from?
How adaptable are wedding cake designs, especially due to budget concerns? - Do you have or can you rent items like cake toppers, stands, tiers, fountains, and cutters? Will we be billed extra?
- If I want to use fresh flowers on my cake, will you coordinate with my florist, or will I have to manage getting the flowers to you?
- What ingredients do you typically use? What kind of icing do you use? (Better ingredients will cost more, but will make the cake taste better)
- How long before our wedding are the cakes prepared? How long does it take to make a cake? (The closer to your wedding that the cake is prepared, the better it will taste. BUT, anyone who tells you that they can bake a wedding cake in a day is not telling you the truth, or isn’t being realistic. Due to the complicated nature of wedding cakes, they usually take between three and five days. )
- Are your wedding cakes priced by the slice? Is there an extra cost for special fillings or details?
- Will you charge extra for my design? Is there a price list I can take home with me to study?
- Can you give me a written proposal I can take home?
- Do you do deliver? How much does it cost?
- Will the delivery person be able to make emergency frosting or decoration repairs and arrange the cake table?
(For anything even slightly complicated, getting them to deliver is best. You won’t want to be stuck with 150 ruined pieces of wedding cake at $8 per slice, much less on the morning of your wedding)

IKEA Gets in the Bridal Business with New Virtual Wedding Service
Delaware Perfect Wedding Guide
BY
When you think Ikea, you envision DIY projects, Swedish meatballs, cinnamon buns and cute knick knacks you don’t need but absolutely want! You don’t necessary think about love–unless swooning over their new stationary collection counts.
When it comes to mastering the art of boxing things up for a perfectly assembled experience, Ikea has it all figured and now they seemingly have mastered how to create the perfect wedding–virtually.
With Weddings Online a couple can broadcast their wedding live for up to 6 hours, online, and have up to nine people in their immediate wedding party. In order to interact with the couple during the marriage ceremony you need to have a Facebook or Twitter account, if you have neither you can still watch the ceremony you just won’t be able to interact with the couple and their guests.
The weird thing is strangers will be able to see your wedding taking place, but that can’t be any weirder than having a virtual wedding–right?
Does having a wedding courtesy of Ikea excite you? Check out the video below for a first look!

Black and White Wedding with a Splash of Camo
So thrilled to share this Morning Cup of Wedding served to us by a lovely bride and now a Mrs, Melony Groff! She is a a past Winner of our 12 Months of GiveAways and prepares a wonderful story about her wedding day. Enjoy this brew of story with great photos by Scott King Photography
“Good Morning! I wanted to share our special day for the morning cup. We were married on 10/18/14 and were actually the winners of the 12 Months of GiveAway – we won the officiant services. Tina Zabetakis with WEDDING DREAMS AND PARTY THEMES did a wonderful job. We had a custom ceremony and she did above and beyond to make it perfect!
Other vendors who we used were: Venue- Kitty Knight House, Flowers – Fair Hill Florist, @Cake – Bing’s Bakery , DJ – Gino G. of VIP DJ Entertainment, Photo Booth – The Wilmington Photo Booth Co.., Tuxedos – Collars ‘n Cuffs, My dress – David’s Bridal, My Girls Dresses – Brides and Grooms, Inc.We picked The Kitty Knight House after meeting the event coordinator at a Bridal Show, and we are so happy we did. It is a beautiful venue as well as having an amazing staff which left us with no worry or stress.
We knew that our day was going to be great! Our guests loved the venue, the food and cake, our DJ ( who is the BEST!) and they had a blast in the photo booth.
We incorporated a lot of us in our day and that was a hit with everyone – We had a Black and White theme with burlap and camo. I wore black and white with my girls all picking their own dresses to suit them in black, the guys all wore black tuxes with camo vests with burlap pocket squares and orange boutonniere to match the girls fall bouquets. We made our own center pieces, burlap table number runners, mason jars with photos and pine cones and burlap wrapped milk bottles w/fall color flowers. I had my cake made to match my dress.
Our DJ ran our ceremony, played piano for our cocktail hour and played the best music for our reception – we picked mainly country with custom picked songs for our special moments and he incorporated other music that went perfectly. I have to say our wedding was perfect in every way”
